Projects
Tennessee is constantly striving to enhance and extend the use of technology in support of adult education through infrastructure development, practitioner training, and  technical support to the field. Tennessee encourages all adult education programs to provide technology and internet access to adult learners to better meet their learning needs as well as to prepare them for today's workplace. Current  focuses in the area of technology are:
  • Distance Education for Adult Learners
    Support GED learners who are unable to attend on-site classes via distance education services using the GED Connections Video and Workbook series as well as the Literacy Link Online study system.
  • Computer Basic Skills Classes
    Provide entry level training to adults in computer skills for word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software and internet usage.
  • Online Professional Development
    Development and Maintenance of AEOnline website, discussion lists for Administrators and practitioners, online professional development courses, online publications and digitizing videos for online viewing, partnership with Southern LINCS.
  • Technology-Based Information Management
    Increase information access & efficient data management, ongoing data collection, validation, and archiving, data analysis, interpretation, and reporting, support for reporting & data analysis, Comprehensive Annual Performance Reports, Excellence in Education Report, Tennessee Adult Education Directory
  • Technology Training & Technical Support
    Assisting Program Administrators and AE Instructors to implement teaching strategies that integrate technology into the adult classroom, network with other AE professionals, access AE resources, and improve technological skills that support online statistical reporting/data entry, program marketing, and data analysis for continuous program improvement

    Brad coordinates data reporting and the development of accountability systems for Adult Education in Tennessee. Brad is also the primary contact person for questions regarding NRS (end of year) reporting for all state AE programs.
